This movie was a surprise hit, and with good reason. It's very cute, very funny, and the moral of the story is a nice one. There are problems with the film, but overall it's a great date movie. The plot is simple and doesn't twist or turn, but the message: don't judge a book by it's shocking pink cover, is a good one. The little dog is very cute, the secondary romances are equally cute, and the movie is, in the final analysis: CUTE. Legally Blonde would score a 4 but it does stereotype lesbians and gays, even while trying to be PC in some of the dialogue. A mixed message that spoils an otherwise terrific little movie. It's not oscar material, the ending is pure Hollywood formula, but it is engaging. Great date movie, you will leave smiling.
