The Princess Diaries is not a suprising movie, but it is a truly endearing one. Great for both guys and gals, there is quite a bit of humor, some of it slapstick (we KNOW how guys love prat falls!!), and it moves along quickly enough that boredom has no chance to take hold. The movie begins a little too abruptly; it appears to have been edited a little too heavily in the first few minutes. Once it swings into action, however, the plot clips along and the laughs keep the pace. The tone and feel may be more appealing to younger viewers, but it's certainly not a teen-only flick. Typical Disney fair, you won't leave the theater dreamy eyed, but you will leave smiling. Nice movie!
